How to buy more iCloud storage space

Backing up multiple devices or maybe you want to keep a copy of your Camera Roll and the tons of videos that come with and, and you’re wondering how to buy more iCloud storage to contain it all? Well you the good news is, Apple makes it incredibly easy.

  • First off go to Settings on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
  • Tap on iCloud in the left hand column
  • Tap on Storage and Backup
  •  Tap on Buy More Storage
  • A new box will now open up offering your three options.
You can now select to increase your storage to 10GB, 20GB or 50GB per year. Once you select one, you will be billed for that year; although Apple will offer refunds within 15 days or purchase. The picture above shows the costs in UK Pounds. The US equivalent will be $20, $40 and $100 a year.
A point to note, before you go for extra storage. Any music, apps, or iBooks that you bought through iTunes is stored for free in iCloud, as is your Photo Stream. So make sure you really need more before upgrading from the free option.

Nokia Lumia 800 specs (official)

Nokia World 2011, the Finnish mobile giant pulled the wraps off its very first Windows Phone devices and showed them to the world. First one up to the plate is the Nokia Lumia 800 (previously known as the Searay/Nokia 800), which has been spotted and leaked many times in the past. It features a design that’s been heavily inspired by the Nokia N9 with some changes – like the presence of a physical shutter button, the Windows Phone buttons and a relocated camera flash.

The Nokia Lumia 800 will feature a 3.7″ AMOLED ClearBlack curved display (800 x 480), a 1.4GHz single-core processor (Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon S2, Adreno 205 GPU), 16GB of onboard storage, 512MB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera that makes use of a f/2.2 Carl Zeiss lens and is optimized for taking photographs in low light conditions and 720p video capable, HSPA+ connectivity, and of course – Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango). Other features include: FM Radio, TV Output, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS. The phone will be available in three colors: cyan, black and magenta.
In addition to the usual Windows Phone 7 offerings , the Nokia Lumia 800 will also come with a number of preloaded apps from Nokia: Nokia Drive – a turn by turn, voice navigation app, Nokia Music – an app for consumers to obtain music for free and without any sign ups, and an ESPN sports hub for folks to stay up to date with their favorite sports. It was announced that these apps will be available exclusively for Nokia phones, though I can’t help but wonder if they’ll make their way to non-Nokia WP7 phones in the future.
The Nokia Lumia 800 will go up for pre-order starting today and will arrive in the US early 2012. It will cost 420 Euros ($585) though this is before taxes and without a contract.

Nokia Lumia 800 specs at a glance:

  • 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 processor
  • 3.7″ AMOLED ClearBlack curved display (800 x 480)
  • 8-megapixel rear camera (720p HD video)
  • 16GB onboard storage
  • HSPA+
  • Windows Phone 7.5 Mango
  • FM Radio
  • TV Output
  • Bluetooth
  • WiFi
  • GPS

iPhone 4S, iOS 5 release date means magic but no Siri on iPhone 4, 3GS

Only buyers of the new iPhone 4S get the Siri voice assistant feature of iOS 5, but those who stay home and download iOS 5 for their iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS will get the rest of the new features two days sooner. The 4S hits stores on October 14th, keeping with Apple’s tradition of Friday major retail launches. But the download version of iOS 5, a free gift from Apple to users of third and fourth generation iPhones, will surface online two days earlier on October 12th. As is the case with installing any new operating system on any piece of older slower hardware, some iOS 5 features will run more slowly on the iPhone 4 and especially the iPhone 3GS than they will on the new iPhone 4S which sports a significantly faster dual core processor.

Only two headlining iOS 5 features, AirPlay Mirroring and Siri, require so much computing horsepower that they’ll only run on the latest iPhone and not the previous iterations. Of the two, only Siri will be widely missed…

Each new iPhone generation has its own “killer” feature around which Apple shapes its marketing campaign. For the iPhone 3G it was 3G networking, For the iPhone 4 it was FaceTime. For the iPhone 3GS it was… well, we’ll get back to you on that if we ever figure out what the 3GS was all about (we were merely jesting here, but several readers have accurately pointed out that the 3GS introduced both video and the compass to the iPhone timeline, for whatever it’s worth). But this time it’s unmistakably Siri for the iPhone 4S. Voice commands are nothing new, but they’ve long tended to be either overly simplistic or overly obtuse. Siri, based on the demos, puts a nearly human face on voice recognition. It also requires significant processing power to calculate in real time what it is the user it referring to and then come up with an appropriate answer or action. The iPhone 4 and 3GS, simply put, can’t do that. Apple is banking that despite all of the rest of the iOS 5 magic being given away to those users for free, the lack of Siri will drive at least some of them to end up buying an iPhone 4S after all. We’ll find out starting next week, as iOS 5 lands on Wednesday and the iPhone 4S with iOS 5 preinstalled hits stores on Friday. iPhone 4 and 3GS users, which way are you leaning on the iPhone 4S? 5 things you didn’t know about the Nokia Asha Mobile Phones

No doubt you will all now be clued up to your eye balls with the various design specs and functions of both of Nokia’s new Asha 200 & 200, and 300 & 303 series that were presented during NokiaWorld yesterday. However, whilst saturating these juicy new phones and their ‘no nonsense and affordable’ character traits, we thought it fitting to offer you some further glimpses of Nokia’s genius with some more cool facts about the new series.
The new range of Asha mobile phones.
1. What’s in a name?
As the team at vnsmartphone pick up on, the name ‘Asha’ derives from the Hindi language, translating as ‘hope’. With this new range specifically targeted to reach the next billion at an affordable price, a name that hails from the Asian subcontinent seems totally relevant and fitting in our eyes. We think this has something to do with demonstrating a renewed hope for a new generation of mobile phone users, as they set out blur the lines between smartphones and ‘feature phones’.
2. Efficient storage device
One of the main features that unites all the Asha phones is the web browser’s use of cloud technology, whereby data usage can be heavily compressed and compacted by as much as a whopping 90 percent! That means that surfing the web is a lot less costly on pay as you go contracts. So, in the words of Blanca Juti (Vice President for Marketing Mobile Phones at Nokia), this really emphasises making new phones that are ‘affordable, irresistable and easy to use’ and that reach a far wider market.
3. Music for the road
If you are tired of carrying your mp3 player and your mobile around on the go, and wish you could just merge them into one, then you should definitely check out the Asha 200 & 201. With 32GB of memory, the 200 & 201 offer a phenomenal 52 hours of music playback whilst maintaining plenty of stamina in the battery tank – the perfect way to plug in and wile away a long journey.

4. Light weight and compatible
Weighing in at a meagre 85 grams, you can put to bed any ideas that a weighty phone always means a better phone. With the Asha 300 you’ve got a slice of high grade technology with a 2.4″ resistive touch screen display and 140MB of internal memory (not to mention a pre installed Angry Birds gaming application) that weighs as much as your average lemon. Also crammed in is a traditional nine key layout and a 5MP camera, and lemons or no lemons, this is about as far from a ‘brick’ as you can get.

5. Long distance runners
It’s not really glamorous or cool, but its definitely a crucial component in any mobile phone, regardless of glitz and cost. Yes, we are talking about hard core battery life (not actual marathon runners). Say, you buy a new Asha model – the last thing you want is a weak battery and to be carrying your charger round like your life depends on it. Well you need not worry, as the Asha 200 has a battery which can last for up to 35 days on standby or 7h talk time, and the 300 should go the distance for up to 30 days on standby in 2G mode, or 35 days in 3G mode, with up to eight and seven hours of talk time respectively. Not half bad.
Those are our five nuggets of information that you may or may not have known. Got more to share? Feel free to leave a comment below or over at @Nokia_Connects

Camera Pro 2.02(4) - 2.2.4 - S^3 - Anna - Belle - Nokia N8 - Full Version App Download

CameraPro processes images in background, so you can capture more images directly after taking a picture. But CameraPro provides 100% quality (=raw jpeg) by default which results in up to 5 times larger image sizes (like 10 MB instead of 2 MB). Thus sometimes CameraPro can be a little bit slower than the built in camera when taking pictures with 100% quality.

Does CameraPro hack or alter the camera firmware in any way?
No, CameraPro is a stand-alone application which provides the same, or even better, quality and features as some hacks (e.g. HyperX) available but without altering the camera firmware nor the built-in camera app settings.

How can I take pictures in 16:9 format?
When you are in photo mode, please goto "Settings" and change the image size to e.g. "4000x2248".
How can I record videos?
To switch to video mode goto the "Camera Mode" menu item and select "Video mode". Video recording is started with the same buttons as used for image capturing.
CameraPro offers powerful access to N8 camera and video: 11x near continuous digital zoom, raw jpeg stream, flash, whitebalance, exposure(compensation), brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, effects(negativ,...), virtual horizon, compass, anti-shake, time lapse, bracket(HDR), continuous autofocus, macro, manual ISO, presets, self timer, burst shooting, HD video (15,25,30 fps), expert video with custom frame sizes, bitrate, video/audio codec, frame rates.
List of Features
All Phones
Please note that features have little variation due to different hardware used in various phone models. For instance not all phones have a compass sensor.
- Quick access (one-tap) to all functions
- Near Continuous Digital Zoom
